What You Can Do

  10th Anniversary Special Appeal 2026

2026 marks the ten year anniversary of CARA as a registered charity. Over that period we have  donated over £300,000 to our partners One Sky Foundation to support family based care and provide bursaries to children to attend school. But we need to do more. The war in Myanmar has become more intense driving a new wave of displaced persons across the border into Thailand to join the many thousands already there. We have set an ambitious target to raise a record £50,000 during our tenth anniversary year.

Please help us today.

BECOME PART OF
THE CARA TEAM

CARA is run entirely by volunteers and there are no paid staff. Volunteers support us in different ways, for example offering website support, marketing advice and supporting fundraising events.  We are always looking for volunteers willing to share their skills and time to support CARA. Please get in touch if you would be willing to help.

Recent fundraising events include:

Annual Garden Party hosted by trustees Colin and Jan in their home in Berkhamsted. This is a lovely opportunity for CARA supporters to get together and celebrate the successes of the charity but it is only possible by the generosity of CARA volunteers. A local band provide entertainment for free and friends and neighbours support the event by serving drinks and providing homemade baked goods.

24 hours cyclethons. For three consecutive years, trustee Marianne Scholes and her family hosted a 24-hour cyclethon at their home in South West London. This novel fundraiser involves local friends and family cycling non-stop for 24 hours.
